Purpose

The overall purpose of this sub-programme is to provide the department with Corporate Support to ensure that line function components are able to fulfil statutory requirements. These include the following components office services, admin services, information hub and legal services.

The Strategic Objectives are:

• The provision of suitable accommodation through proper needs assessment, planning, consultation, acquisition, physical re-location, safety considerations
• Implementation of emergency procedures
• Optimal utilization of transport fleet (official and sub-vehicles)
• Provide professional Legal Services to Provincial Treasury
• To provide an efficient, effective and economical service to the department in the utilization of their stationery budget.
• To provide an efficient, effective Registry Management Services for the Department and implement an Electronic Document Management Filing System to be utilized by all Directorates for correspondence received in the Registry for filing.
• To provide a safe and secure Records Management Services for all documents, files and correspondence to be archived and made available for access purposes in the Department at all times.
• Finalize the needs procurement of suitable equipment for all Directorates in the Department and implement efficient, effective and economical equipment to be utilized and promote efficient usage of equipment.
• To establish a well organised centre (Information Hub) where staff, management and Treasury clients can access information for different purposes.
• To ensure that Information is made available to all stakeholders in line with the requirements of the Promotion of Access to information Act.
• To understand information requirements of the Treasury, clients and the general public and then ensure that such information is made available.
• Create a one stop shop for resolution of all information needs of the Treasury stakeholders.
• To institute a unit responsible for the distribution and dissemination of information to the Treasury clients and the general public.
• To ensure that intranet and website is always up to date and has relevant information for all stakeholders.
