  • Manage 10 Economic Services Departments with an MTEF budget of R104.9 billion, on behalf of the National Treasury
    (The following are the department whose budgets and policies I managed: Agriculture, Communications, Environmental Affairs, Housing, Land Affairs, Minerals and Energy, Science and Technology, Trade and Industry, Transport and Water Affairs)
  • Representing Treasury in a variety of inter-departmental task teams
  • Evaluating policies for all the 10 departments and informing the Minister of Finance of their impact on the economy/households and other economic agents,
  • Evaluation and recommendations on departmental budget requests,
  • Approval of in-year shifting of funds in 10 departments,
  • Approval of state asset acquisitions and disposals,
  • Approval of business plans and establishment of public entities
  • Analysis and recommendations on proposed tariff increases
  • Drafting proposals for restructuring state owned entities
  • Qualitative and quantitative economic research (e.g. I published internally a paper on research and development and the role it has in the economy
  • Regulatory Impact Assessment project
  • Administered prices research
  • Directly manage a staff complement of 14 people in the unit
  • Member of the budget coordinating forum (the forum aligns revenue forecasts with spending plans and fiscal framework)
