PURPOSE:
To promote the development and compliance within provincial departments, municipalities and public entities of financial management norms and standards based on the effective and efficient use of resources and the cornerstones of good governance as espoused in the PFMA and MFMA.

VISION:
Be the centre of excellence in promoting the development and compliance of financial management norms and standards in the Province based on the effective and efficient use of resources and good governance practices.

MISSION:
As strategic business unit within the Provincial Treasury we will aspire to uphold the mission of the Department and demonstrate leadership in the core areas of financial management norms and standards aligned to the core principles of strategic leadership and corporate governance enshrined in our values statement.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE:
To develop, facilitate implementation, and monitor compliance with financial management norms and standards in provincial departments, municipalities and public entities to enhance performance-orientated financial management.
