Provide guidance and support to the entire department, advice the Office of the MEC, Office of the HOD, Senior Management and staff in all legal matters in order to manage and mitigate legal risks that might face the Department and office of the Ministry.
Co-ordinate with other Departments on all legal related issues which have direct bearing on Provincial Treasury and ensure the recovery of costs of its activities whenever possible.
Draft, scrutinize and edit Department contracts.
Draft subordinate legislation such as rules, regulations, legal prescripts and policies pertaining to the management of the Department and the regular review of legislation / policies applicable in the Department, perform duties of Deputy Information Officer in compliance with PAIA.
Ensure the efficient, effective and economic utilization of all resources to the component and development of staff.
